Chapter 126
by lionThe fairies were trying to look threatening, but the first thing that came to Jun-sang and Henes’s minds was not fear but cuteness. Henes, in particular, was so overwhelmed by their adorable charm that she couldn’t help but tremble.
Just then, another fairy approached the fairy who had shouted at them and whispered. “Mia-ra, look at that. Look.”
“What?”
“The man’s cheeks! And his forehead! Look at his shoulders too!”
“Huh?”
Mia-ra squinted and took out a small pair of glasses from her pocket, carefully observing Jun-sang. “Oh! It’s a fairy dragon! And those marks on his forehead and cheeks… are you by any chance the person who helped Inia and Ilmaren?”
Inia and Ilmaren. They were the fairies Jun-sang had met during the Forest Purification and Swamp Extermination quests. When Jun-sang nodded, Mia-ra quickly put away her sword, waved her hands dramatically, and bowed. “Oh my… I’m so sorry. I didn’t recognize a friend of the fairies and was so rude… as you can see, my eyesight is a bit poor…”
“It’s fine.”
“We’d like to invite you to our village. Is that okay?”
The direction Mia-ra pointed to happened to be the same as the one indicated by the quest marker. It seemed the starting point of this Epic Quest was to arrive at the fairy village.
“Gladly.” When Jun-sang accepted, Mia-ra smiled happily and quickly expressed her gratitude. “Thank you!” Then she shouted to the other fairies flying around, “Everyone! He’s a friend of the fairies! The master of a fairy dragon!” The fairies immediately started chattering and excitedly swarmed around Jun-sang and Henes. Some curious fairies touched Jun-sang’s and Henes’s hair, and some braver ones tried to peek under their clothes.
“P-please don’t. Fairies.” Henes, flustered by the fairies trying to lift her skirt, shouted. But the fairies seemed to find her distress amusing and became even more excited, trying to peek under her clothes again.
“J-Jun-sang…” Henes, unable to endure it any longer, held down her skirt with her hands and asked for his help. Jun-sang calmly activated Mad Dog’s Dignity.
“Gasp!”
The fairies, who had been playing pranks, were startled and retreated from them. Looking at them, Jun-sang had a sudden thought. Although the skill had a ridiculous name, it seemed like it could be surprisingly useful for chasing away mosquitoes and gnats.
In any case, the two of them, on the Ghost Steed, entered the fairy village guided by Mia-ra.
“Wow…” As she entered the village, Henes couldn’t help but gasp at the beautiful scenery. Although it was called a village, in Jun-sang’s eyes, it was a field of flowers. A field full of lily-of-the-valley flowers, each the size of a fist. Those flowers were the homes of the fairies.
Jun-sang first deactivated Mad Dog’s Dignity. He then dismounted the Ghost Steed and helped Henes off. If he had just ridden in, the village might have been trampled by the horse’s hooves. When they dismounted and entered the village, Mia-ra again waved her arms with a flourish and bowed.
“Welcome, traveler, a friend of the fairies and the master of a fairy dragon. I am Mia-ra, a descendant of a hero fairy and a qualified fairy knight. It is an honor to meet you.” Jun-sang responded with a slight bow and said quietly, “I’m Jun-sang.”
Henes also quickly introduced herself. “My name is Henes.”
While they were introducing themselves, Jun-sang’s quest information was being updated.

Epic Quest – Oblivion
2. Talk to Mia-ra.
-Mia-ra, the fairy knight who protects the Forest of Agelahan, is troubled by the intruders that are disturbing the forest. Please listen to her story.
(Sub) Minia’s Request
-> Talk required.
(Sub) Ripi’s Request
-> Talk required.
(Sub) Unialan’s…
“…” He could accept Mia-ra’s quest, but he couldn’t help but cover his face at the endless procession of sub-quests that followed. He counted about twenty of them. Jun-sang had visited several large castle cities for Epic Quests, but this was the first time that so many sub-quests had appeared on the list at once. Fortunately, Jun-sang had an excellent assistant specializing in such matters.
“Henes.”
“Yes.”
“I need your help.”
“Yes! Just say the word!”
Jun-sang, ignoring the bewildered Mia-ra, took out a cabinet, pulled out a notebook and a pen, and handed them to Henes. “Here, write this down.” Henes understood what this meant instantly, opened the pen, and unfolded the notebook.
“Tell me!” As she finished her preparations, Jun-sang began to read out the names from the quest information one by one.
“Minia, Ripi, Unialan…”
Mia-ra, who had been watching blankly, asked, “What… what are you doing? Those names… they sound like our children’s names…” But Jun-sang ignored Mia-ra and only spoke to Henes again after he had finished reading all the names from the quest list. “You know what to do, right?”
“Of course!”
“Oh, Mia-ra is also included, so don’t forget.”
“Yes! Leave it to me!”
Henes was excited by the thought that she could be of help to Jun-sang.
“Alright! Fairies! I have something to tell you! Please gather around!”
The fairies, having forgotten that they had been scared away by Mad Dog’s Dignity, gathered around her, chattering excitedly.
“What is it?”
“I don’t know!”
“Me neither!”
“Don’t ask!”
“Well, you’re a fool anyway.”
“What! You glutton fairy!”
“Ah! She’s talking. Be quiet!”
Jun-sang stepped away from them and sat on a rock at the village entrance, watching Henes listen to the fairies. A girl resembling a fairy, surrounded by fairies in a fairy village, listening to their words. Even Jun-sang, who had never been interested in taking pictures, felt that this sight was too good to keep to himself.
“Hmm… where did I put my phone?”
Jun-sang took out his cabinet and searched for his phone. His phone, which he hadn’t used for a long time out of concern for location tracking after the quest-related functions had disappeared, finally saw the light of day. Jun-sang turned on his phone and used the camera to take a few pictures of Henes and the fairies. The resolution was a bit disappointing, but for now, it was better than nothing. Just in case, Jun-sang took about three or four pictures in a row before putting his phone back. He then calmly watched Henes as if nothing had happened. Henes, completely unaware that Jun-sang had taken pictures of her, returned to him only after meticulously listening to the fairies’ stories and recording the key points.
“Good job.”
“Don’t mention it. I just did what I was supposed to.”
Jun-sang lightly stroked Henes’s head as she smiled brightly, then he finally stood up and said, “Mia-ra’s task is last. So, what should we do first?”
Henes quickly flipped through her notebook and replied, “Well… let’s start with Minia’s request.”
“Alright.”
Jun-sang immediately began to solve the fairies’ requests one by one.
“Thank you so much! You truly are a friend of the fairies!”
“…” Minia’s reward for asking Jun-sang to find her hat was, like Inia and Ilmaren, a fairy’s kiss. Minia lightly kissed Jun-sang’s cheek and then, embarrassed, quickly hid inside a nearby lily-of-the-valley flower.
‘Fairy’s Kiss’ has been imprinted.
: A kiss full of a fairy’s goodwill grants you good luck. This is an imprint and will never disappear. The ‘Fairy’s Kiss’ appeals to other fairies that you are a friend of the fairies.
The message was no different from the one he had received from Inia or Ilmaren.
Ripi’s request was to restore a spring that had been trampled by wild boars. This request was also not very difficult.
“Morning Dew.” Jun-sang summoned the Water Elemental and fused it with the Elemental Dragon. The Elemental Dragon, after fusing with Morning Dew, transformed into the shape of a fresh water droplet. As the fairy dragon, fused with the Water Elemental, flew near the spring, the fairies who were watching began to chatter again.
“Ohh! A fairy dragon!”
“Wow, it’s so cool.”
“Right? But… I’ve never actually seen a fairy dragon before.”
“You too? This is my first time too.”
“I heard the hero fairies used to ride fairy dragons. I want one of those too.”
“Is there a fairy dragon that can handle your weight?”
“Grrr!”
While the fairies were chattering, Jun-sang simply used his entrenching tool to dig and tidy up the ground where the spring had once been, then arranged stones around it to prevent it from being easily disturbed again. When the work was done, Jun-sang gave a command to the Elemental Dragon fused with the Water Elemental.
“Now, bring the water.”
The small fairy dragon, upon receiving the command, gently settled on the spot where the spring had been, as if it were an egg, and then fluttered its wings and flew up. A small stream of water then rose up, following the Elemental Dragon.
“Wow! The spring is flowing again!”
“Hooray! The spring is flowing again!”
The fairies chattered excitedly and flew around in a frenzy as the spring water, as clear as morning dew, began to flow. Ripi, with a joyful expression, flew toward Jun-sang as the spring water flowed more cleanly and abundantly than before.
“Thank you so, so much!”
And then, she also kissed Jun-sang’s cheek and said again, slightly blushing, “There’s something I want to give you. Will you come with me for a moment?”
There was no reason to refuse a gift. Jun-sang and Henes followed Ripi back to the fairy village, which was full of lily-of-the-valley flowers. From under the lily-of-the-valley flower that was her home, Ripi took out a small bottle and handed it to Jun-sang.
“What’s this?” Jun-sang asked as he took the bottle, which was made of a material similar to pottery. Ripi, twisting her body in embarrassment, replied, “It’s fairy wine, made from the first dew of the morning and the nectar of lily-of-the-valley flowers. It’s my masterpiece!”
The amount was only a mouthful, but the Aesthetic Perception skill activated, and the bottle emitted a subtle light, indicating it was no ordinary item.
“Thank you. I’ll drink it well.”
“You’re welcome.”
Jun-sang thanked Ripi and then checked the item.

“Huh…” Flying ability? Jun-sang was a bit surprised that these fairies weren’t just a noisy, troublesome race.
The protagonist of the third sub-quest was Unialan, a plump, matronly fairy.
“Oh my… I’m so sorry.”
“…”
Unialan’s request was to find a new home. She had apparently gotten too big and her old home was too cramped. She had found a lily-of-the-valley flower that would be a good house, but it was too far from the village, and she was in a difficult situation. This request was also not a difficult task for Jun-sang. He just had to go to the lily-of-the-valley flower, dig it up with its roots, and replant it in the village.
When he had easily solved the request, Unialan, as if she had been waiting, kissed Jun-sang’s cheek and twisted her body in embarrassment. “I also prepared something for you. Will you accept it?”
“…” Jun-sang silently nodded, and Unialan took out a blue bottle from under her original home and handed it to Jun-sang. “I collected the powder that came off after I washed myself in clean spring water. It’s called Fairy Powder! The effect is incredible.”
“…” Powder that came off after she washed herself? Jun-sang immediately stopped his train of thought. He had a bad feeling that he shouldn’t think about it any further. But it seemed Unialan’s words weren’t a lie, as this blue bottle also emitted a subtle light, thanks to the Aesthetic Perception skill. Jun-sang decided to check the item.

The other fairies also gave him rewards just like Minia, Ripi, and Unialan. When the eighth fairy, Iora, kissed Jun-sang’s cheek, a message appeared in front of him.
